From the Designer’s Desk: Serene Blues and Layered Neutrals

Designing for function does not have to mean compromise on style or aesthetics. This in progress open concept living and breakfast area design scheme incorporates a serene color scheme of layered blues, and warm and cool neutral tones as well as fabric textures from linen to tweed to herringbone to corduroy all to evoke a scheme that feels cohesive, cozy, approachable, and liveable. The design has a juxtaposition of both color and neutral hues that span a range of undertones to give the room a dynamic interaction of subtle tones. On top of the aesthetics of this beautiful room design, the basis of it is fully functional and durable for a family full of grandkids that frequently occupy and live in these rooms. Crypton treated upholstery selections and highly durable fabric selections for all the lived on elements mean that practical does not have to lack in the style department.
