Front Door Files: Summer Pillows

One of our talented interior designers and pillow workroom gals just delivered these fun summer floral lumbars for a client and we just couldn’t help but think they would look darling in a room accessorized with our new in stock artwork by local Charlotte artist, Eva Crawford, our aqua blue garden stool, our vintage cane ottomans, and our other designer fabric throw pillows in gold cut velvet, pink and green embroidery, and Monet inspired watercolor. What a vibrant and vivacious palette this is!

The best part of these custom floral lumbars is truly the attention to detail paid. If you look closely, a specific and differing part of the floral “scene” of the print is centered on each face in order to give it a cohesive yet distinctive look. A micro cording in aqua blue separates the floral from the geometric patterned contrast flange which gives it an unexpected pop and calls out the green and blue details of the print that might otherwise be overpowered by all of the reds and pinks in the flower part of the pattern itself. It is truly this attention to detail and creative construction that sets custom design far apart and is a skill we are proud to say our designers hone in on here at Front Door. Let us help you think outside of the box to come up with creative design solutions. When looking at these two patterns together in sample form many people would not dream of pairing them together, let alone on one singular piece; but, wow! What a difference it makes! This would be a totally different pillow with just a plain cording or knife edge finish.

Here are two more pillow examples currently in stock and custom made by our workroom to further demonstrate how combining prints and patterns on a singular piece has a huge impact on the overall design:
