From the Designer’s Desk: Modern Florals

A recent in home design consultation by one of our interior designers with a fantastic client started the ball in motion for this light and bright, layered and eclectic take on traditional design elements. A peak at this in progress design reveals bold silver leaf damask on a taupe grey background to add depth to built in bookshelves flanking a fireplace which dons the client’s existing mid century inspired starburst mirror. A light, Crypton finish linen textured Wesley Hall sectional would be the perfect contender for optimal guest seating and for boasting layers of deep peacock blue velvet (also on two end dining chairs in next room over), metallic aqua linen, bold aqua and taupe geometric prints on pillows. A splash of citrine zebra inspired print in a central upholstered ottoman atop a tonal aqua Moroccan patterned rug would provide the perfect pop of color in a soft neutral and “spa blue” space. Traditional porcelain gourd lamps in a fun aqua hue and silver leaf etagere keep the layers of fun patterns feeling refined while large scale European inspired floral drapes host the medley of colors for the space’s soft yet dynamic palette.
