High Point Market: Fall 2014 Part II

Next up on our market excursion we are talking all about the sparkly home accents that make your room sing…from mirrors, to trays, to accent pieces and accessories here is all the latest and greatest on accessory trends and finishes:
Antiqued mirror finishes were everywhere at market from console faces to actual hanging mirrors and they were presented in every way from traditional gilded and authentic antiqued looking frames to contemporary geometric accent tables and minimalist clean lines. (We have a great product as a part of our Amy Howard furniture finish paint line that can help you accomplish this very look on one of your own pieces if you are up for a little DIY. Stop by the store today and let one of our designers help you figure out how and what to antique!)

No outfit, or room in this case, is complete without a little jewelry. Some popular finishes this market were matted gold leaf (especially when paired with contemporary, high gloss, lacquered white accents), highly polished and industrial chrome, rose gold and copper, and deep, moody bronzes, (in addition to the antiqued mirrored finishes mentioned above). The range of these metallic hues certainly provided the perfect glimmer to each showroom space and added warmth, light, and depth especially when mixed and layered together.

Natural elements truly were the belle of the ball in nearly each and every showroom space. Nothing adds quite the patina or depth to new fabrics, colors, and furniture shapes like the rich accents of mother nature. From agate and geode slices and marbled pattern inspired prints to petrified wood, from uniquely showcased glass terrariums to large scale driftwood, from shagreen textures to sisal, from semi precious stones encased in brass to burled wood the beauty of what naturally is was the perfect compliment to all of the new shiny fabrics and furnishings trends. (Check out our previous forecast of this trend here.
