For this particular in progress design think cultured and cultivated design roots of the old south, stately and timeless traditional furnishing, silhouettes, and architecture, a juxtaposition of formality with a relaxed approach to hospitality, a breath of fresh air with light and crisp walls, soft colors, refined textures, layers of custom details, a unique mix of patterns and prints, and, overall, a distinctively subdued elegance evocative of the pages of Veranda and Traditional Home ….neo trad design at its finest. This current Front Door client has a palate so well formed in terms of design aesthetics we could not wait to get our hands on some samples to pull for her home. This beautiful residence is almost down to bare bones with minimal furnishings in play so we are starting from the ground up to create a well formed home that feels lived in, acquired, polished, and, in summary of her thoughts, a place that when you drive by on the road and catch a glimpse in the windows you think to yourself, “I would love to go in and have a glass of sweet tea there.” And really, we couldn’t agree more- shouldn’t all rooms make you feel that way? Fast forward to a dash of silk buffalo check, a hand painted inspired toile, velvet Greek key, sophisticated small scale animal prints, hand knotted wool rugs, custom chinoiserie panels in the faintest hue of blush, aquas that would make the Carolina sky jealous, and we have the perfect ingredients for the start of a grand foyer entrance, dining room, and ladies sitting room in the works. Stay tuned for more, we have a feeling this project will quickly become a design darling favorite!
