From the Designer’s Desk: Charming Boy’s Room

Striking the perfect balance between designing a child’s space that is also child friendly, filled with a playful sense of nostalgia and whimsy, but that is also easily transitioned as they grow older is truly sometimes a fine fine line. Our designers strike this unique chord frequently and are always happy to assist you in store or through one of our in home design consultations to custom design nurseries, children’s bedrooms, playrooms, even all the way up to teen rooms and dorm rooms utilizing textiles and accents that convey the distinct personality or life stage of each child, are as beautiful as they are durable, and that work with the aesthetic needs of your home. This adorable boy’s room in progress is a perfect example layering menswear checks, herringbone, and stripes with the infusion of playful colors and unique translations of traditional elements (such as the large scale “fishing” toile). This room-in-progress feels distinctively boy-ish and colorful for now but will also work well in later years with the emphasis on layered textured patterns.
