This preview post of an in progress design centers soley around possibly the most scrumptious of client rugs we have ever seen- a classic traditional treat washed in a range of corals, celadon, sea salt blue, and deep aquas. This lovely client has refined and sophisticated Southern style that walks a beautiful line merging traditional roots with timeless antiques and soulfull details with a bright and light and fresh and streamlined translation. Existing taupe and ivory Moroccan fabric from a past project at a past home covers traditonal wooden dining room seats and the goal here is to utilize that along with the rug as a base to pull out subtle pops of color and loads of texture. A subtly dynamic grasscloth in shades of pale blue, aqua, celadon, and taupe compliments the range of hues present in the rug below and crisp, tailored ivory velvet panels are to be lined with Greek key trim to polish off the look while hung on sleek and simple metal French return hardware. This start will eventually be complimented by some colorful abstract artwork, an antique buffet paired with contemporary lamps, the below overhead drum pendant, and other finishing accents. Sometimes it is really the simple details like texture and tone that pull an entire room together and this one is off to a great start!
