HPMKT Round up- Part I

Over the past week we traveled up to High Point, NC for the Spring Furniture Market in order to source new vendors, explore new trends, and see all the beautiful things trickling in and here to stay in the world of interior design. Check out our round up of some of the most predominant trends and styles we spotted that made a big impact throughout many vendors this Spring showing- we will touch on three today and will follow up with some additional post the rest of the week so that you can get a glimpse into all of the beautiful sights at this trade only event! First up…

Bold florals: Bright, vivid, painterly floral blooms were not confined to small accents any more and made dramatic statements in larger upholstered pieces, wallpaper, and area rugs, and when done in smaller doses were combined with layers upon layers of other prints, patterns, textures, and accents. This trend is go big or go home all the way.

Blush pink: a Pantone color of the year, Rose Quartz, these shades of the softest whispers of pink were everywhere at market from walls to sofas and chairs to smaller accents like lamps and pillows. While blush made a bit of a debut last showing we saw it more so here this season. This shade felt decidedly “grown up” and not the least bit juvenile and when paired with mid century influences, gold accents, and contrasted with charcoal grey and black it felt timeless and fresh and didn’t feel too fussy.

Chinoiserie: graceful hand painted vines, blossoms, and birds added elegance and refinement to the show seen here on hand painted silk pillows, removable (yes, removable) wallpaper, and metallic lampshades all available for order through the store!

Check back tomorrow for even more trends to show!
