We have already touched on this color trend the other week (here) but this Fall’s market was sprinkled with the confectionery hue from showroom to showroom in every range and shade possible. Pinks and purples and all of there related cousin colors have long since been vastly avoided in certain room designs as they can quickly fall into the “too” category veering the aesthetic direction of the space “too feminine” or “too soft” or “too juvenile.” There seems to be a stigma there that sometimes people can’t shake. It is a fine line to establish for sure. However, with this prominent design trend swiftly gaining popularity these soft touches seem to be the perfect accent for any space allowing them to keep from feeling “too stark” or “too severe” or “too serious.” The can, in fact, be the perfect compliment and antidote to the “toos.” So from the palest, almost beige shade of ballet slipper blush, to the softest whisper of lilac, to a more saturated salmon based or lipstick pink sometimes a small dab of these accent hues provide the perfect pop.
