High Point Spring 2015 Trends: Au Naturale

In the past few seasons we have seen ample amounts of painted and distressed case good finishes and lacquered objects (think horse heads, owls, and any item you’ve bought or spray painted a glossy white or color to use in a vignette) as the darlings of the home accessory scene. While these are certainly still beautifully and aesthetically relevant in certain interiors and design applications we are seeing a major shift from things that feel so manicured and a complete return back to the basics. All things natural and nature inspired have found themselves at the forefront of this spring’s High Point Market design features. This includes wooden pieces that are either in their natural state (all imperfections included) or stained in rich natural wood tones, live edge designs to showcase organic movement, shagreen and grasscloth textures, agate slices and geodes, malachite, quartz, and semi precious stoned adorning decorative boxes and light fixtures, framed feathers, butterflies, beetles, ferns, palm fronds, and pressed flowers, stylings with driftwood and sea fan pieces, petrified wood accents and bowls, and even fabric prints, patterns, and furniture designs reflective of the veining and patterning found in these natural elements. Take a look at some of our favorites below- decorating your home may not be farther out of reach than you think (like your backyard) and the added bonus is nature never goes out of style!
